This is a well‑structured Accounts Assistant role within a well‑established, member‑based organisation with a long operating history and a stable leadership team.
The finance function is experienced, organised, and well supported. The role exists to add capacity to a small accounting team and maintain smooth day‑to‑day processing across accounts payable and accounts receivable. It will suit someone who enjoys routine, accuracy, and working in a professional, low‑ego environment where expectations are clear.
About the RoleWorking closely with a CFO and an Accountant, you’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day transactional accounting across the organisation. The scope is broad without being overwhelming, and success in the role comes from being consistent, organised, and detail‑focused rather than overly commercial or strategic.
The role covers:
End‑to‑end Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, weekly payment runs, bank file uploads and supplier remittances
Accounts Receivable, including posting and allocating incoming payments and monitoring outstanding balances
Issuing monthly statements, managing overdue accounts and responding to related queries
Managing AP and AR inboxes and liaising with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
Assisting with month‑end reporting and maintaining accurate financial records
Providing general support to the finance team as required
You’ll be trained on the organisation’s accounting and member management system, with Excel used regularly for reconciliations and reporting support.
About YouThis role suits someone with a solid grounding in transactional accounting who values structure, routine, and stability.
You’ll likely bring:
Around 2–3 years’ experience in an Accounts Assistant, AP or AR role
Practical exposure to both accounts payable and receivable
Comfortable Excel skills and confidence picking up internal systems
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
Clear, professional communication when dealing with internal teams and external contacts
Industry background is open — hospitality or membership‑based environments are helpful but not essential.
Why People Stay in Roles Like ThisPermanent, full‑time position with consistent business hours
On‑site, centrally located workplace with reliable systems and processes
Small finance team with approachable leadership and low turnover
A role focused on doing the fundamentals well, not constant firefighting
Stable organisation with realistic expectations around workload
This is a sensible move for an Accounts Assistant who wants security, clarity around responsibilities, and a professional environment without unnecessary pressure.
