Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a driven and talented Accountant to join our dynamic team at Kheir Accountants Pty Ltd in Bankstown, NSW. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients with a range of tax and accounting services.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and lodging tax returns for individuals and small businesses

• Assisting with financial reporting, bookkeeping, and other accounting tasks

• Single Touch Payroll (STP) tasks, including superannuation compliance

• Conducting research and analysis to support the team's efforts

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records

• Collaborating with colleagues to deliver high-quality service

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required

• 1-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a public accounting firm or tax advisory practice

• Strong understanding of tax legislation and accounting principles

• Intermediate knowledge of tax legislation and accounting principles expected

• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication and client-service skills

• Proficiency in using accounting software and relevant tax preparation tools

• Experience with HandiTax tax preparation software preferred

• Experience with any major accounting software platform required

• Proficiency in MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage accounting software platforms preferred

• Australian permanent resident status required
