We are looking for a Credit Manager to join a growing financial services team based in Sydney CBD. This is a key role where you will assess and approve credit applications, review supporting financial information, act as an escalation point for complex matters, and work closely with brokers, customers, and internal teams to deliver fast, accurate, and professional outcomes.

About the role
As Credit Manager, you will be responsible for reviewing applications, completing detailed credit assessments, and making decisions in line with policy and risk appetite. You will also help manage escalations, support process improvements, and mentor junior team members. This role suits someone who is confident, detail-focused, commercially minded, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess and approve applications in line with credit policies.
  • Review financial statements, credit reports, contracts of sale, and supporting documents.
  • Make clear recommendations for applications outside standard limits.
  • Manage urgent applications and escalations professionally.
  • Work with brokers, customers, and internal teams to resolve queries.
  • Support and mentor junior assessors and customer-facing team members.
  • Help improve credit processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Identify potential fraud risks and apply appropriate risk controls.
  • Meet agreed service level timeframes.
About you
You are an experienced credit assessor or underwriter with strong judgement, excellent attention to detail, and a practical approach to risk. You know how to balance strong credit standards with a positive customer experience.

Skills and experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience in credit assessment, credit underwriting, or mortgage lending.
  • Ability to assess financial information and make well-reasoned decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Confident working independently and as part of a small team.
  • Experience with self-employed income, investment properties, and complex scenarios is highly regarded.

Why join?
  • Join a market-leading financial services business with strong growth plans.
  • Be part of a supportive, high-performing, and down-to-earth team.
  • Play an important role in helping customers move forward with property purchases.
  • Enjoy ongoing training, development, and career progression opportunities.
  • Work from a centrally located Sydney CBD office.
If you are an experienced credit professional ready for your next opportunity, we would love to hear from you.
