At MAYE, we design with intention - elevated, timeless pieces for the modern woman. As we continue to grow our global online presence, we are seeking a considered and detail-driven Financial Accountant to support the financial integrity of our business.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who understands the rhythm of ecommerce, is comfortable navigating systems and tech stacks, and values precision as much as insight.

The Role

Working closely with the leadership team including the Founder, CFO and COO, you will take ownership of day-to-day financial operations while delivering clear, meaningful reporting to guide decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting, Month-End & International Performance – Prepare and present monthly management accounts, supporting the month-end close with timely reconciliations, analysis, and reporting, including international P&L segmentation.

Balance Sheet Integrity – Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including accruals, prepayments, intercompany transactions, and inventory.

Payables & Supplier Management – Oversee supplier invoice processing, payment runs, and monthly statement reconciliations with accuracy and control

Cash Flow & Banking – Manage daily bank reconciliations and cash flow forecasting to ensure clarity and continuity across the business

Compliance & Tax – Prepare GST workings, BAS returns, and support international sales tax reconciliation and broader statutory requirements

Commercial & Data Insights – Analyse Shopify and Redo data to deliver meaningful insights across sales, discounts, refunds, and performance trends

Systems & Process Optimisation – Work confidently across systems and tech stacks, continually improving workflows, automation, and data accuracy

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications – Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with CPA qualification

Experience – Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a similar financial or senior accounting role, within retail, wholesale, and ecommerce environments. Experience in fashion or consumer goods is highly regarded.

Technical Expertise – Advanced working knowledge of Xero, Shopify, A2X, and Cin7, with strong Excel capability. Experience across integrated ecommerce and finance systems is essential.

Ecommerce & Systems – Proven experience in online retail environments, with a strong understanding of Shopify data flows and the broader tech stack supporting ecommerce operations.

Payroll – Confident managing payroll processes with accuracy and compliance.

About You

You bring a calm, methodical approach to your work. You are highly organised, commercially aware, and comfortable navigating data to uncover clarity.

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Analytical mindset

  • Ability to identify cost efficiencies and improve processes

  • Strong communication skills and time management
