Tax Advisory Director

A growing CBD firm and independent member of a national affiliation network is seeking a Director focused on tax advice. The advisory function is expanding and operates as a dedicated, standalone team rather than a secondary service line.

The role

This is a senior hire into the private tax advisory team. The work covers compliance and advisory across a client base including large property groups, high-net-worth individuals and private groups with complex structures. You will work closely with a partner and to operate with a high degree of autonomy, reviewing, advising and engaging directly with clients and external advisers.

What you will work on

• Tax advisory and compliance across private groups, trusts and corporate structures
• Large property transactions including acquisitions, developments, sales and leases
• CGT, Division 7A, GST and small business concessions
• Cross-border and investment structures
• Succession and estate planning matters
• ATO engagement and private rulings
• Drafting clear, technically sound written advice
• High-level review of compliance work prepared by the broader team

• 7 - 10+ years of Australian tax experience, ideally across mid-tier or boutique firms with some Big 4 exposure
• Strong technical capability with the confidence to form and articulate a position
• Meticulous and detail-oriented, the client base transacts at scale and expects precision
• Excellent written communication skills
• CA or CPA qualified
