About the Role

We’re looking for an Import Compliance Specialist to support the smooth and compliant flow of merchandise into Australia.

In this role, you’ll partner closely with Buying, Inbound Logistics, PC and external partners (including freight forwarders and customs brokers) to ensure we meet all regulatory requirements while keeping our operations efficient and agile.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working across teams, strengthening processes, and making a real impact on how we bring products into the business.

What You’ll Do

  • Support day-to-day import compliance activities to ensure merchandise meets Australian Customs and Quarantine requirements

  • Partner with Buyers, Inbound Logistics, and freight forwarders to facilitate smooth import processes

  • Coordinate with brokers on documentation (including Commercial invoices, Manufacturers Declarations, and treatment / fumigation certificates)

  • Validate and review data to ensure accuracy and compliance (including use of Excel tools such as VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables)

  • Identify potential compliance and biosecurity risks and support internal audits

  • Maintain and improve SOPs, ensuring processes are clear and consistent

  • Provide support and guidance to internal teams (e.g. Buying Offices and booking teams) on compliance requirements

  • Contribute to process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Build working knowledge of quarantine requirements and regulatory frameworks

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experience in import/export, trade compliance, or customs-related roles

  • Background working with importers or within regulated industries (e.g. retail, food, beauty, healthcare) is highly regarded

  • Strong understanding of Australian Customs requirements, including documentation, COO and FTA frameworks

  • Exposure to quarantine processes and compliance requirements, with BICON knowledge highly desirable and considered a strong advantage

  • Experience with internal audits, compliance checks, and process improvement is a bonus

  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, data validation, working with large datasets) are a bonus

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capability

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement

  • Confident communicator, comfortable working across multiple stakeholder groups

Why Join TJX Australia

  • Collaborative, team-first environment with strong cross-functional partnerships

  • Opportunity to step into a broader importer-side role and deepen your expertise

  • Exposure to end-to-end logistics and trade compliance processes
