The Company

Paragon Talent Solutions is supporting a leading provider of electrical and industrial automation solutions. Due to continued growth and increasing demand from their customers, multiple opportunities have become available for Senior Control Systems Engineers to join their expanding Sydney team.

These are permanent positions based in Sydney, with successful candidates primarily supporting major Greenfield Data Centre projects. The organisation is delivering large-scale automation solutions for some of Australia's most significant Data Centre developments, with Ignition SCADA forming a key part of the technology stack.

The Position

As a Senior Control Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of automation and control systems projects from concept through to commissioning.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing PLC, SCADA and HMI solutions for major Greenfield Data Centre projects
• Supporting the full control systems project lifecycle, from functional design through to testing and commissioning
• Developing new automation solutions using modern control system technologies, including Ignition SCADA
• Ensuring real-time operational data and control systems are performing effectively and efficiently
• Performing factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing and commissioning activities
• Working closely with clients to understand their operational requirements and develop fit-for-purpose solutions
• Providing technical leadership and guidance throughout project delivery
• Acting as a key technical point of contact for clients and project stakeholders
• Supporting troubleshooting, fault finding and system optimisation activities where required

These positions would suit Senior Control Systems Engineers with strong PLC and SCADA experience who enjoy working closely with clients, taking ownership of technical outcomes and delivering high-quality automation solutions on large-scale Greenfield projects.

Your Experience

To be considered for this position, you will possess:

• A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computing, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or similar
• Strong experience delivering industrial automation and control systems projects
• High-level competence with PLC, SCADA and HMI technologies
• Solid understanding of the complete control systems project lifecycle
• Experience with Ignition SCADA is highly desirable but not essential
• Experience with Schneider, Siemens, Rockwell or similar PLC platforms
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
• The ability to communicate technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong stakeholder management and client-facing skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
