Accounts Payable Officer (Part-Time – On Site)

Aussie Skips is a family-owned skip bin and waste management business operating from depots in Greenacre and Strathfield. As our business continues to grow, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team.

This is a part-time position, working 30 hours per week onsite at our Greenacre depot. Monday and Tuesday are mandatory working days, with flexibility around the remaining hours and days.

What you’ll do

The successful candidate will be responsible for the ownership and day-to-day management of the company procurement system, including the conversion of purchase orders into supplier invoices. A key part of the role involves thoroughly reviewing invoices to ensure all supporting documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with company procedures before uploading them into our cloud-based accounting system.

You will manage weekly and monthly payment runs, reconcile supplier statements, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and perform regular credit card reconciliations. The role also requires maintaining strong supplier relationships through the effective management of incoming and outgoing supplier communications.

In addition, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the Accounts inbox, ensuring all queries are responded to promptly and professionally. The position provides ongoing support to the finance team with various ad hoc duties as required, while also overseeing daily filing, document management, and general administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the department.

You’ll report to the Finance Manager.

What we need from you

  • Two-plus years payables experience in a volume environment

  • Strong understanding of Accounts Payable principles and processes

  • Ability to follow process.

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines

  • Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders

  • Genuine attention to detail.

  • Team Player

  • NetSuite experience is a bonus, not a dealbreaker
