Data Engineer – Microsoft Data Platform (SAP Integration)

D2i is seeking a Data Engineer with strong Microsoft data platform expertise to join a high-performing analytics delivery team working on enterprise data transformation initiatives.

We are looking for someone who can start immediately or within a 3-week notice period, based in Melbourne, with strong experience across the Microsoft data ecosystem and SAP data sources.

The Role

As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and optimise scalable data pipelines and data models within a Microsoft-based data platform.

You will work with data sourced from enterprise operational systems including SAP, transforming and integrating this data into analytics-ready datasets to support reporting and advanced analytics.

Working closely with Power BI developers, analytics engineers, and solution architects, you will help deliver reliable, well-structured data solutions that support business intelligence and operational reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop data pipelines and integration workflows

• Build and maintain Azure Data Factory and SSIS pipelines

• Integrate and transform data from SAP and other enterprise source systems

• Develop and optimise SQL Server data models and warehouse structures

• Implement data transformations and data quality processes

• Support downstream Power BI analytics and reporting

• Work with architects and business stakeholders to translate data requirements into technical solutions

• Document data models, pipelines, and integration processes

Required Skills

• Strong Microsoft data stack experience

• Azure Data Factory

• SQL Server

• SSIS

• Strong SQL development skills

• Experience integrating SAP data sources

• Data modelling experience (dimensional / data warehouse modelling)

• Experience building ETL / ELT pipelines

Highly Desirable

• Experience extracting data from SAP ECC or S/4HANA

• Experience working with Power BI environments

• Exposure to modern cloud data architectures

• Experience working within enterprise or consulting delivery environments
