Virbac Australia has an exciting opportunity for a driven Key Account Manager to join our Livestock team.

Reporting directly to the National Commercial Operations Manager and operating within the framework of the Virbac Commercial Department, this role drives Australia's growth by delivering an industry-leading experience across all major accounts, including retail, within the livestock portfolio. By cultivating strategic partnerships and ensuring cross-functional alignment, you will execute integrated business plans that support our broader strategy. Ultimately, your ability to foster exceptional customer engagement will position Virbac as the supplier of choice and unlock sustainable, high-value sales opportunities.

The key areas of accountability for this role are:

  • Internal & External Relationship Management: Act as the primary customer-facing representative for key accounts, cultivating strategic B2B partnerships, major retail accounts, and influential industry ties. Cultivate strong internal relationships with senior business leaders and work cross-functionally to deliver on outcomes. Represent Virbac Australia at key industry events and utilize deep customer insights to shape product and portfolio strategy.

  • Strategic Key Account Management & Execution: Manage business in selected key accounts to drive sales growth, ensuring full Virbac livestock products are ranged and listed. Develop strategic promotional plans utilizing corporate funds, and manage and negotiate 12-month marketing campaigns. Develop the sales targets/objectives of key accounts, analyze sales, and propose corrective measures against the plan.

  • Trading Terms & Financial Management: Provide strategic oversight of the full trading terms spectrum for key accounts under management. Draft Terms of trade in line with budget assumptions and manage the 'accrual to payment' process related to rebates. Ensure timely customer engagement, planning, and execution related to trading terms to maximize sales and profit results.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution: Work collaboratively to design, execute, and monitor integrated marketing strategies with key customers. Manage the implementation, tracking, and approval of rebates and incentives, and interact with the Customer Service team to ensure customer requirements are met. Work with Regional/Territory Sales Managers to ensure seamless communication to staff and customers for the achievement of the total company budget.

You're someone who:

  • Holds a Marketing/digital/eCommerce or equivalent degree qualification, with a technical Degree in Veterinary Science being highly desirable.

  • Has a minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience, preferably in Livestock, incorporating key account management and Retail/FMCG/Pharmaceutical/eRetail experience. At least 10 years of industry experience or equivalent is desired.

  • Has expertise in developing and executing tailored, long-term customer strategies and B2B relationships to drive mutually beneficial outcomes.

  • Has strong foundational and practical experience within the Livestock sector to address customer needs and position product portfolios effectively.

  • Is proficient in utilizing market analysis and financial management tools, combined with a high level of competence in Google Workspace and CRM platforms.

  • Demonstrates essential behavioural skills including a proactive, customer-first mindset, excellent time management, effective communication, and the ability to demonstrate team work and develop cross-functional cooperation.

  • Has a curious mind and loves learning new things—because growth (personal and professional) is kind of your thing.

  • Shows up for your team with heart, humility, and a willingness to pitch in—no egos, just good energy.

  • Is ready to take ownership of your role, bring fresh ideas to the table, and help us do things better.

Not sure you tick every box? That's okay. Research shows that people from underrepresented groups often hesitate to apply unless they meet every single requirement. At Virbac, we care more about your values, your mindset, and your passion than a perfect checklist.

If this opportunity feels like a good fit and you're excited about what we do—we'd love to hear from you.
