Customer Service/Yard Associate

We are looking for a Customer Service/Yard Person. This is a full-time seasonal position in a busy and upbeat workplace in Sydney, NS. We are looking for a candidate that will be personable, math oriented and a good problem solver. The season typically runs from March to November.

• Assisting in shipping and receiving, order picking, and scheduling as needed.
• Identifying customers\' needs, suggesting the right solutions/products, and ensuring each customer is taken care of.
• Any other tasks deemed appropriate to the position.
• Safety in the yard, including safe conduct by all customers and staff.
• Loading and unloading of trucks by hand.
• Maintaining the yard in a neat and organized fashion, including cutting grass, organizing product, picking up plastic, etc.

• Great communication skills in person and on the telephone.
• Ability to handle heavy merchandise, and work outside in all weather conditions (up to 50 lbs).
• Someone with drive and ambition.
• Available to work occasional Saturdays during the summer season.
• Open to helping and working with your team members in the Warehouse and other Shaw Brick locations, as required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Experience in a retail background or a Warehouse Customer Service background.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Bilingualism will be considered an asset.

Hours of work are 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM with opportunities for overtime.
