Role Purpose

The Disability Support Worker role at CPA exists to provide high-quality, person-centered support to people with disabilities.

You will play a vital role in empowering clients to live as independently as possible, by helping them to achieve their goals and supporting their day-to-day wellbeing, dignity and quality of life.

About the Clients:

As a Disability Support Worker, you will support clients living with a range of disabilities, including Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Down syndrome, intellectual disabilities, and physical disabilities. Some clients may also present with complex needs and behaviours of concern.

Role Overview

Join the Lifestyles Home and Community team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of people with disability. This rewarding role involves providing one-on-one home and community support to clients aged 18-80, promoting independence and helping them achieve their goals through community engagement and daily living support.

This role is based across the North Shore region, requiring travel to our group homes. The position is permanent part time (30 hours per week) and offers day shifts from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Must be available to work Monday - Friday.

You will assist with daily living skills, social engagement, and community participation, including personal care (where required), manual handling, medication support (if trained), behaviour support strategies, and 1:1 or small group support.

Each day, you will encourage independence, build skills and confidence, promote inclusion, support participant choice, facilitate activities and outings, follow individual support plans, document progress, and work collaboratively with families and allied health professionals.

Essential Criteria

  • Commitment to person-centred care
  • Current NSW Driver's Licence (minimum P2)
  • Ability to meet the inherent physical requirements of the role
  • Willingness to work a rotating roster
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Working With Children Check
  • First Aid & CPR

Where required, CPA will support or reimburse relevant compliance certifications.

  • CHC33021 - Certificate III in Individual Support
