The Role

We are currently seeking:

  • Disability Support Workers (Community Access)

  • Disability Support Workers (Supported Independent Living – SIL)

Role Overview
  • Community Access Support Workers support participants to engage in the community, build social connections, and achieve personal goals.

  • SIL Support Workers provide day-to-day assistance within Supported Independent Living homes, including personal care, routines, and skill development.

All roles operate within a person-centred framework, working under structured care plans and organisational policies.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting participants with daily routines, including personal care, meals, supervision, and social support

  • Assisting participants to build independence and develop life skills

  • Supporting community participation and activities aligned with participant goals

  • Completing accurate shift notes, progress reports, and incident reports

  • Communicating effectively with participants, families, and team members

  • Liaising with healthcare professionals where required

  • Following all health and safety procedures and reporting risks or incidents

  • Maintaining participant dignity, privacy, and confidentiality

  • Participating in ongoing training and development

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking individuals who are:

  • Experienced in supporting people with disability

  • Passionate about making a meaningful difference

  • Strong communicators and team players

  • Calm, patient, and adaptable in challenging situations

  • Organised, with strong attention to detail

  • Able to work independently and collaboratively

For Team Leader roles, you must also demonstrate:

  • Proven leadership experience within disability or community services

  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving capability

  • Ability to manage teams, priorities, and operational demands

Experience

You must have experience supporting individuals with:

  • Physical disabilities

  • Intellectual disabilities

  • Mental health or psychosocial disabilities

  • Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs)

Experience working with restrictive practices and complex behaviours will be highly regarded.

You must also be willing to assist with personal care.

Qualifications
  • Certificate III in Disability Support (minimum)

  • Higher qualifications (Certificate IV, Diploma, or equivalent) will be highly regarded, particularly for Team Leader roles

Essential Requirements

You must have, or be willing to obtain:

  • Working With Children Check

  • National Police Check

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check

  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module

  • First Aid Certificate

  • Relevant immunisation records

  • Current Australian driver’s licence and reliable vehicle

Availability across a variety of shifts is required:

  • Day shifts

  • Evening shifts

  • Overnight or sleepover shifts

Desirable (Highly Regarded)
  • Experience supporting complex needs or challenging behaviours

  • Experience supporting participants with mental health conditions

  • Understanding of behaviour support frameworks

  • Strong communication and organisational capability

  • Ability to adapt to changing participant needs
