Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Reporting to the HST Superintendent, this position plays a key role in supporting the Underground operation through the delivery of safety, assurance and compliance activities, ensuring alignment with site standards, company requirements and legislative obligations.

• Provide technical expertise, guidance, and coaching on all health and safety matters, in alignment with the company's Health and Safety Management System and applicable legislation.
• Conducting verification activities and compliance checks across the operation through assurtance activities, audits and various inspections.
• Assisting operational departments with incident investigations, risk assessments, critical control verification and management of change activities.
• Analysing safety data and incident trends to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Supporting contractor management processes and verification of safety compliance requirements.

Skills and Experience

• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent) as a minimum qualification.
• Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety will be highly regarded.
• Demonstrated experience in HST or Health and Safety role within a heavy industry environment.
• Previous underground mining experience is highly desirable.
