Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Architectural Model Technician to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in physically manifesting architectural concepts to aid in the design process. The ideal candidate will be capabale of from reading plans and details, 2D and 3D CAD modelling to interpreting design strategies, renders and material schedules and posess hands on fabrication skills as it relates to architectural design processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret 2D CAD drawings
  • Interpret and produce digital 3D CAD models to aid in the design process
  • Create detailed architectural models based on plans, details, renders, and material schedules.
  • Operate specialized machinery including laser-cutting machines, 3D printers, and CNC milling machines to aid in the architectural design process
  • Collaborate with architects and designers to refine models and design details.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Rhino 3D
  • Understanding of architectural plans, elevations, and material schedules
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with laser-cutting machine operation
  • Hands-on experience with 3D printing machine operation
  • Familiarity with CNC milling machine operation
  • Knowledge in CAD drawing and interpretation
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of craftsmanship
  • Proficiency with Adobe Design Suite software
Desirable Skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other design software
  • Understanding of BIM (Building Information Modeling)
  • Experience with 2D and 3D rendering software
  • Ability to work with various materials such as wood, acrylic, metal, etc.
  • Familiarity with construction techniques and assembly methods
  • Understanding of sustainable materials and design practices
  • Experience in prototype development and iterative design processes
