Interior Designer | COX Architecture
You've spent the last 5-6 years building real skill, now you want projects (and a studio) that match it.
At COX, you won't be the most senior person in the room, but you also won't be stuck documenting someone else's decisions. You'll take the lead on smaller projects, run packages on larger ones, and have genuine input into design direction — backed by 60 years of practice and studios across every major Australian city plus Auckland.
And our people get noticed: two COX designers were recently named in the ADR 30 Under 30, recognition for talent on the rise. We want yours to be next.
What you'll be doing:
End-to-end involvement, from concept and client engagement through documentation, coordination and construction. You'll lead design conversations, shape material and spatial strategies across workplace, education, cultural and public projects, and bring junior team members along as you go.
Why COX:
Real leadership opportunities — package lead and small-project lead roles, not just "senior designer" in title only
Clear career progression beyond this role — this isn't a ceiling
COX Women — a new, director-led initiative supporting women across the practice (COX is part of 500 Women in Property)
Lunch and learns, regular talks, EAP — because a good studio looks after its people, not just its projects
Monthly staff lunches, drinks, and Friday wind-downs — good work and good people, not mutually exclusive
What you'll bring:
5-6 years' experience, a relevant design qualification, strong Revit/Adobe/CAD skills, the judgement to make calls and the communication skills to bring others along with you.
Ready to lead, not just deliver? Send your CV, cover letter and portfolio to ********@cox.com.au.
