We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join the College commencing at the start of Term 3, 2026

About the role

St Dominic's College invites applications from suitably qualified and enthusiastic educators for the position of Music Teacher. This is a full-time, permanent teaching role within a dynamic and collaborative faculty.

The successful applicant will contribute to both the academic and co-curricular life of the College and support the ongoing development of a vibrant Music program.

Key responsibilities include:

• Deliver high-quality Music programs across a range of Stages in accordance with NESA requirements 

• Develop engaging and differentiated teaching and learning programs 

• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with College and NESA expectations 

• Contribute to the ongoing development and review of Music curriculum and assessment practices 

• Support and participate in co-curricular music programs and College events 

• Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families 

• Support the College’s pastoral care program, assemblies, and community events 

• Model and promote the College’s Catholic values and the Edmund Rice Charism

Essential Criteria:

• A strong commitment to Catholic values, morals, and faith in the Edmund Rice tradition 

• Current NESA accreditation at Proficient Teacher level or above 

• Tertiary qualifications in Music Education or a relevant discipline recognised by NESA 

• Demonstrated effectiveness as a classroom practitioner in secondary Music education 

• Sound knowledge of NESA Music syllabus requirements 

• Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills 

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Highly Desirable Criteria:

• Experience teaching Music across a range of Stages (4–6) 

• Experience in co-curricular music activities such as ensembles, bands, or performances 

• Ability to differentiate learning to support diverse student needs 

• Experience integrating technology into Music education

Salary and Conditions 

Teachers at St Dominic’s College are employed under the NSW Catholic Independent Schools (Teachers – Model B) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2023 and may attract higher levels of remuneration.

This leadership position attracts an additional 2-point Coordinator Allowance.

The salary will be reflective of NESA accreditation level and teaching experience, with an estimated annual salary between $94 733 and $136 081
