Liberator Australia is excited to announce an opening for a full time Training Officer – AAC Education & Training.

About us:

Liberator provides augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices, accessories and services that support communication. Liberator is part of PRC-Saltillo, a global leader in voice output communication since 1966, with subsidiaries in Australia, the UK, Germany, Singapore, India, and Canada. Building personal connections with each other and with the people we support is central to Liberator’s values. As part of our fast-growing organisation, you will join a supportive, closeknit team working across Australia.

About the role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Training Officer to join our team and play a central role in expanding access to high-quality Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) education across Australia and the Asia Pacific region. This is a dynamic position requiring regular interstate travel, suited to someone who is passionate about AAC, thrives in diverse environments, and brings energy and expertise to every training room they enter. This would be an ideal position for Speech Pathologists in Sydney, Melbourne and/or Brisbane.

The Training Officer will be responsible for delivering our suite of AAC training and education programs to a broad range of audiences, including speech pathologists and allied health professionals; educators and school staff; AAC communicators; parents, families and carers of AAC communicators; and community and disability support workers. Some training may also be delivered online.

In this role you will:

  • Deliver face-to-face and online AAC training and education programs to diverse professional and community audiences across Australia and the Asia Pacific region

  • Adapt communication style, content depth, and delivery approach to suit audience needs — from clinical professionals to family members and carers

  • Facilitate engaging, interactive workshops, seminars, and presentations that build confidence and practical AAC skills in participants

  • Represent Liberator and PRC Saltillo products professionally at conferences, professional development events, and community forums

  • Contribute to the ongoing review and improvement of training materials, resources, and curricula in collaboration with the wider team, using participant feedback and current evidence-based practice to inform analysis

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partner organisations, host sites, referrers, and key stakeholders across training regions

  • In partnership with the Commercial Operations Coordinator, liaise with local coordinators and service providers to ensure seamless delivery logistics and a positive participant experience

  • Act as an ambassador for Liberator's mission and values at all engagements

  • Self-manage travel planning, scheduling, and logistics in coordination with the Commercial Operations Coordinator

  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and outcomes

  • Prepare regular reports on training delivery, reach, and participant feedback and submit to the Training Manager

Travel Requirements:

This role involves frequent domestic travel across Australia, with some infrequent travel to countries within the Asia Pacific region. Travel may include overnight and multi-day trips. A valid passport and willingness to travel are essential requirements of the position. The role can be based in Liberator's Sydney Olympic Park office or be partly or fully remote.

About you:

You are organised, thoughtful, and have a talent for communicating AAC knowledge simply. You are comfortable with delivering information through a variety of mediums (in person, online training, e-learnings). You live in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, and are willing to travel frequently for this role.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology, Education, or a related field, OR demonstrated equivalent experience in AAC training and education

  • Solid knowledge of and passion for AAC — including low-tech, high-tech, and multimodal communication approaches

  • Experience working with AAC communicators and their support networks in clinical or community settings

  • Proven experience delivering training or professional development to diverse adult audiences

  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to tailor content and communication style to a wide range of audiences, including clinical, educational, and family/community groups

  • High degree of self-motivation, organisation, and ability to work independently while travelling

  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently nationally, and occasionally internationally

 Desirable:

  • Familiarity with healthcare and education systems across Australia

  • Experience in curriculum or resource development

  • Current valid Australian driver's license

 What we offer:

  • A meaningful role contributing directly to the lives of AAC communicators and their families

  • A supportive, values-driven team environment

  • Opportunities for ongoing professional development in AAC and training practice

  • Exposure to diverse contexts, cultures, and communities across the region

  • Competitive remuneration and travel support
