Ross Engineers is a boutique structural engineering consultancy operating out of Lewisham in Sydney's inner west. We've built a reputation for delivering smart, practical structural solutions across a wide range of residential and light commercial projects, from bespoke new builds and complex alterations through to small commercial works. The role:

This is a mid-level position with real teeth. You'll be delivering structural designs across a varied project mix, preparing calculations, drawings and documentation for approval and construction, and coordinating directly with architects, builders, and certifiers. You'll conduct site inspections, give practical engineering advice in the field, and manage multiple projects and timelines without someone looking over your shoulder at every step. As part of a small team, you'll also play a role in mentoring junior staff, because the best engineers are the ones who bring others up with them.

This role is a genuine stepping stone to senior engineering responsibilities, and we're committed to getting you there.

Who we're looking for:

You've got 4–6 years of structural engineering experience under your belt, ideally in a consulting environment, and you're ready to do more than you're currently being asked to do. You have a solid grasp of Australian Standards and NCC requirements, strong experience in residential design, and you're comfortable in structural design software, SpaceGass, SLABS, Toolkit, TEDDS or similar. More than your technical skills though, you know how to talk to a client and a builder in plain language, and you take a proactive, practical approach to getting things done. You're the kind of engineer who finds the solution, not the kind who waits to be told one exists.
