About the Role

We are seeking an early-career Electrical Engineer to join our Power Generation team, supporting the maintenance, refurbishment, and optimisation of large synchronous generators across thermal and hydro assets in Australia.

This role offers hands-on exposure to real plant environments, working alongside experienced engineers and collaborating directly with Toshiba’s global engineering network.

You will be involved in technical problem solving, site works, outages, and commissioning — developing into a specialist in generator systems.

Key Responsibilities

Support diagnosis and resolution of technical issues on synchronous generators

Assist with site works, including outages, inspections and commissioning

Prepare and contribute to:

Scope and plan the outages

Technical reports (e.g. outage reports, inspection reports)

Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)

Commissioning documentation

Coordinate with workshops and subcontractors on equipment refurbishment

Maintain technical documentation and site issue registers

Support client interactions and technical discussions

Work safely in accordance with company HSE and quality systems

About You

Degree in Electrical Engineering

1–3 years’ experience in power, heavy industry, or similar

Interest in rotating machinery, generators or high-voltage systems

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Clear communication and a proactive mindset

Willingness to travel and work on site during outages

Exposure to generators, HV systems, or industrial environments is advantageous but not essential.

Additional Requirements

Australian driver’s licence

Ability to travel (including extended site works and occasional international assignments)

Flexibility to support outage schedules (including extended hours when required)
Willingness to be based on-site for 4-6 months per year
