Maintenance Officer - Casual

About the role
Greystanes Disability Services (GDS) is seeking a casual Maintenance Officer to join our team based in Leura, NSW. In this role, you will be responsible for minor property repairs, routine safety checks, and basic indoor/outdoor upkeep that is tailored to specific mobility needs of people with disability.

What you'll be doing

• Performing minor maintenance tasks on GDS' properties (buildings, vehicles and equipment) when required.

• Follow the organisation's WHS policies and procedures.

• Take items to the council tip if required.

Essential Requirements:

• A positive attitude towards people with a disability

• Physical Requirements: Standing, Driving, Regular Bending, Lifting, Repetitive duties, and equipment usage

• Previous experience in maintenance/wood/metal repair work.

• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.

• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently.

• Sound understanding of WHS requirements.

• NDIS Workers Check and the completion of the NDIS Workers Orientation Modules;

• Workers with Children Check;

• A current First Aid/CPR certificate;

• Unrestricted NSW Driver's licence

• Unrestricted right to work in Australia (visa evidence required)

Desirable:

• Previous experience in preventative maintenance.

• Previous experience in the maintenance of wheelchairs and hoists

• Previous experience in fleet management.

• Previous experience in the safe handling and storage of chemicals and associated products.
