Medical Technician - Hair Transplant

About the Role

Hair Doctors Australia is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Technician to join our clinical team. The role involves assisting medical practitioners in hair restoration procedures, supporting operating theatre preparation, and ensuring high clinical standards across patient care and surgical environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist medical practitioners during hair transplant procedures, including preparation and handling of grafts and surgical instruments.
• Perform hair graft extraction and preparation, with the ability to extract up to 1500 grafts per hour while maintaining quality and precision.
• Prepare and maintain operating theatre rooms, ensuring all equipment and instruments are set up and functioning correctly prior to procedures.
• Assist with the preparation and setup of anaesthetic equipment and support surgical teams during procedures.
• Monitor and record patient vital signs, including heart rate and blood pressure, using appropriate medical monitoring equipment.
• Accurately document clinical observations and patient information in the clinic’s medical record system and escalate concerns when required.
• Ensure infection control procedures are followed, including sterilisation of instruments using autoclave equipment.
• Manage operating theatre equipment, sterilisation processes, and clinical waste disposal in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant clinical environment.

Qualifications and Experience

• AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in a relevant health, medical or clinical field, or at least three years of relevant work experience in a medical, clinical or surgical support role may substitute for formal qualifications.
• Experience working in a clinical or surgical environment is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of sterilisation procedures, infection control, and clinical safety standards.
• Ability to operate basic patient monitoring equipment, including heart rate and blood pressure monitors.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a precision-based medical environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a clinical team.
