About the role
Smile Collective Health is seeking a dedicated Oral Health Therapist to join our team on a casual basis. This is an excellent opportunity to provide essential preventative and therapeutic oral health services in a supportive and modern dental environment. Based in Narellan, NSW, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to our mission of improving oral health outcomes across the community. As a casual position, this role offers flexibility whilst allowing you to make a meaningful impact on patients' dental health and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
Providing preventative oral health services including scaling, polishing and topical fluoride applications
Taking dental radiographs (X-rays) and performing intraoral and extraoral assessments
Educating patients on oral hygiene practices and providing evidence-based preventative advice
Performing therapy work to utilise the fill scope.Applying fissure sealants and undertaking other therapeutic procedures within your scope of practice
Assisting dentists during Orthodontic clinical procedures and providing chairside support
Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records and documentation
Sterilising, maintaining and managing dental instruments and equipment
Creating a welcoming and professional environment for patients of all ages
Working collaboratively with the dental team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
What we're looking for
Current registration with the Dental Board of Australia as an Oral Health Therapist
Valid First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
Qualification in Oral Health Therapy from an accredited Australian institution
Strong clinical knowledge of preventative and therapeutic oral health procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with diverse patient populations including children
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and sterilisation protocols
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative dental team
Professional, reliable and flexible approach to casual work arrangements
Essential requirement for prior experience in a general dental practice setting
Knowledge of digital dental systems and patient management software is advantageous
Australian citizenship is required for this position
