ABOUT THE ROLEPosAbility Australia is seeking a skilled and passionate Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team, with a focus on assessment and intervention for children with learning difficulties and developmental delays. This is an exciting opportunity to expand the application of occupational therapy into rich clinical territory — including literacy, writing, sensory processing, executive functioning and social participation.You will work with children from preschool through to high school, delivering individually tailored and group-based programs, conducting comprehensive OT assessments, and collaborating with psychologists, educators and other allied health professionals. You will have the flexibility to shape your caseload around your clinical interests and the autonomy to initiate new services that reflect your passions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAssessmentConduct comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments using a range of paediatric standardised toolsAssess fine motor skills, gross motor skills, sensory processing, handwriting, written expression and daily living skillsAssess literacy-related skills including reading, spelling and written languageProduce clear, detailed written reports with evidence-based recommendations for families and schools Intervention & TherapyPlan and deliver individual sessions targeting fine motor, gross motor, sensory processing, executive functioning, handwriting and daily living skillsImplement evidence-based intervention programs to improve reading, spelling and written expressionDesign and deliver group programs addressing regulation, social skills, typing, writing and problem-solvingSelect and apply evidence-based protocols and programs appropriate to each child's profileApply positive behavioural strategies to motivate, engage and support students Collaboration & DevelopmentWork as part of a caring, collaborative multidisciplinary team of allied health professionals and educatorsEngage in peer supervision, internal training and ongoing professional developmentContribute to the development of new services aligned with PosAbility's mission and valuesSupport families in understanding their child's needs and advocating effectively at school and in the communityParticipate in PosAbility's Outreach Program, extending services to children in rural and regional communities WHAT WE OFFER ✓ Competitive above-award salary✓ Internal mentoring and supervision✓ Salary packaging (NFP tax benefits)✓ Opportunity to initiate new services✓ Flexible scheduling — set your own hours✓ Access to a broad range of clinical resources✓ Diverse caseload aligned to your interests✓ Supportive, values-driven team culture✓ Generous professional development budget✓ Contribute to rural outreach initiatives ABOUT YOU — ESSENTIAL CRITERIADegree or higher qualification in Occupational TherapyCurrent AHPRA registration and eligibility for membership with Occupational Therapy AustraliaMinimum two years of paediatric OT experienceExperience working with children with special needs or learning difficulties, individually or in small groupsFamiliarity with paediatric standardised assessment toolsExcellent verbal, written and listening communication skillsAbility to work both autonomously and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary teamValid Working with Children Check and National Police Check DESIRABLE CRITERIAExperience using a wide range of paediatric standardised assessmentsExperience working with school-age children in the areas of literacy, handwriting and written languageKnowledge of current research and best practice in paediatric OT and learning difficultiesExperience designing or delivering group programs for childrenInterest in or experience with evidence-based literacy and/or numeracy intervention programs Apply: Send CV and cover letter addressing all criteria to [email protected]
