About the role

View Sydney is seeking a Reservations Manager to join our dynamic hospitality team on a full-time basis in North Sydney, NSW 2060. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of our reservations operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery and maximising revenue through strategic booking management. The Reservations Manager plays a crucial role in creating the first impression for our guests and directly impacts the guest experience from initial contact through to arrival. This position is essential to the success of our property, bridging the gap between our sales, front office, and operations teams to ensure seamless guest experiences and optimal occupancy rates.

Key responsibilities

  1. Manage and supervise the reservations team, providing training, guidance and performance oversight to ensure high-quality customer service standards.

  2. Oversee all reservation channels including direct bookings, online travel agencies (OTAs), global distribution systems (GDS) and corporate accounts.

  3. Process and manage reservations accurately whilst maintaining detailed records and booking systems and ensuring data cleanliness.

  4. Manage group blocks, rooming lists, special requests and payments to ensure smooth group check-in process.

  5. Respond promptly to customer inquiries and resolve booking issues with courtesy, professionalism and efficiency.

  6. Liaise with front office, housekeeping and operations teams to ensure smooth guest arrivals and special requests are accommodated.

  7. Ensure compliance with company policies, data protection regulations and industry best practices.

  8. Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies and key business partners.

  9. Going above and beyond to provide a memorable guest experience that builds loyalty.

What we're looking for

  1. Proven experience in a reservations management or supervisory role within a hospitality environment, ideally within a hotel, resort or similar accommodation property, preferably 2-years supervisory experience.

  2. Strong knowledge of hospitality systems, property management software (PMS) and reservation platforms. Knowledge of Infor HMS will be an advantage.

  3. Excellent understanding of revenue management principles and experience with pricing strategies.

  4. Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to handle inquiries professionally and courteously.

  5. Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, capable of managing multiple reservations and priorities simultaneously.

  6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with professional telephone etiquette.

  7. Team player and leadership experience with the ability to motivate, train and manage reservations staff effectively.

  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and computer literacy.

  9. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

  10. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to resolve conflicts and handle challenging situations tactfully.

  11. A relevant qualification in hospitality management or similar discipline is preferred
