About the RoleAs a full time Store Manager, you’ll take ownership of front-of-house leadership splitting your time between working in the business and on the business, taking part in the coordination between all areas of the business — including kitchen, butchery, deli, daytime beverages, night-time restaurant service and online/instore specialty orders.
You’ll assist in ensuring each department operates cohesively, maintaining high service standards, strong communication, and financial performance across the entire store.
Key responsibilities include:
Operations & coordination – overseeing daily trade across all sections, ensuring smooth communication and workflow between front of house, kitchen, butchery, deli and restaurant service.
Staff management – recruiting, training, leading and rostering team members across departments to maintain exceptional standards and a strong workplace culture.
Financial performance – managing budgets, labour costs, ordering and supplier relationships in conjunction with department heads, while driving sales and profitability.
Sales & promotions – developing and executing promotions and initiatives to grow revenue across retail, restaurant and online channels.
Customer experience – setting the tone on the floor, resolving escalated issues, and ensuring every guest receives a premium and consistent Duke’s experience.
Communication & leadership – acting as the central link between departments and ownership, ensuring clarity, accountability and alignment across the business.
Food & product knowledge - demonstrating and sharing a genuine passion for quality food and beverage, fostering strong product knowledge within the team, and confidently engaging customers around Duke's offerings.
This role blends hands-on leadership with strategic oversight, giving you ownership of the overall performance and culture of Duke's Providore's daytime operations.
The Ideal CandidateProven experience in hospitality or retail management (multi-department experience highly regarded).
Strong financial acumen and understanding of budgets, labour control and KPIs.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Highly organised, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Passion for quality food, service and community-driven hospitality.
