About the Role

At Magpies Waitara & The Garden, we believe that exceptional hospitality starts with exceptional service.

As a Hospitality Team Member, you will be responsible for creating memorable experiences for our members and guests by delivering warm, professional, and engaging service at every interaction. Whether you're serving a perfectly crafted cocktail, assisting guests in our gaming lounge, or supporting a busy function, your focus will be on exceeding expectations and making every visit enjoyable.

You will be an ambassador for our brand, helping to create a welcoming atmosphere where members and guests feel valued, recognised, and eager to return.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and build genuine rapport with members and guests.

  • Create memorable guest experiences through friendly, professional, and attentive service.

  • Prepare and serve a range of beverages, including cocktails, premium spirits, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic offerings.

  • Provide outstanding service within our gaming operations, ensuring guests feel welcomed, supported, and appreciated.

  • Anticipate guest needs and proactively resolve enquiries or concerns with professionalism and care.

  • Maintain high presentation standards across bars, gaming areas, and customer-facing spaces.

  • Assist in delivering successful functions, promotions, entertainment events, and member activities.

  • Accurately process transactions using point-of-sale systems and handle cash in accordance with Club procedures.

  • Work collaboratively with team members to create a positive and energetic workplace culture.

  • Contribute to a safe, compliant, and enjoyable environment by adhering to RSA, RCG, and Club policies and procedures.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience working in hospitality, clubs, pubs, bars, restaurants, gaming venues, or customer-facing environments.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with a diverse range of guests.

  • A professional, friendly, and approachable manner, with a focus on delivering personalised service.

  • The ability to remain calm, positive, and customer-focused during busy service periods.

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.

  • The initiative to identify opportunities to enhance the guest experience and contribute to the overall success of the venue.

  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to support fellow team members.

  • The flexibility to work across multiple areas of the venue, including bars, gaming, functions, and events.

  • Availability to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends, public holidays, and peak trading periods.

Highly Regarded Experience

Whilst not essential, applications from candidates with experience in the following areas will be highly regarded:

  • Cocktail preparation and premium beverage service.

  • Gaming operations, including gaming machine service and customer engagement.

  • High-volume bar service.

  • Function and event operations.

  • Barista skills and coffee preparation.

  • TAB, Keno, and wagering services.

  • Premium hospitality, entertainment, or destination venue experience.

Essential Requirements

  • Current NSW RSA Competency Card

  • Current NSW RCG Competency Card

  • Previous hospitality experience

  • Availability to work flexible shifts
