Hamsi Taverna (Cask Group Pty Ltd) is a new concept restaurant which was specifically designed for the new Sydney Fish Markets. Hamsi Taverna is a contemporary expression of the Mediterranean taverna - a place where food, wine, music and hospitality exist in perfect balance. The restaurant is located at the new Sydney Fish Market complex in Blackwattle Bay, Glebe.

We are currently looking to fill a number of Chef and Cook roles at various levels.

Chefs:

  • Development of restaurant menus in consultation with the executive team and Restaurant Manager;
  • Manage company standards of quality, service, presentation and cleanliness throughout the back of house (kitchen)
  • Preparation and cooking of menu items
  • Coaching and developing junior staff
Cooks:
  • Preparation and cooking of menu items
  • Plating and portioning
  • Preparation of ingredients (mise en place)
  • Food storage procedures
Requirements:
  • Chef Position: Diploma Hospitality qualification and/or at least 1- 3 years of employment experience
  • Cook Position: Certificate III/IV qualifications and/or 1- 3 years of employment experience
These are full time positions (38 hours per week), immediate starts are available. A remuneration package of $79,500 - $90,000 per annum will be offered to the successful candidates.
