Infrastructure Engineer

Permanent position - Sydney based

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join a stable IT team in Sydney. This is a hands-on engineering role, ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the technology and taking ownership of core infrastructure services. While the immediate focus is on delivery and remediation, there is a progression pathway into an Infrastructure Architect role over time.

You will play a key role in strengthening infrastructure security, supporting critical network and Microsoft environments, and delivering key improvement initiatives across the business. This includes working on remediation activities following a recent penetration test, supporting a major SD-WAN rollout, and helping uplift overall infrastructure standards.

Responsibilities Include:

• Provide hands-on support, maintenance, and improvement of core infrastructure services.
• Manage and support enterprise network and Microsoft-based environments.
• Lead remediation work following recent penetration testing findings and security assessments.
• Implement and maintain secure configuration standards and infrastructure baselines.
• Support and enhance Active Directory, Windows Server, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Contribute to disaster recovery planning, testing, and resilience improvements.
• Provide senior-level troubleshooting and escalation support across infrastructure domains.

Experience needed:

• We're ideally looking for an all-round infrastructure engineer who enjoys working across both network and Microsoft environments, with a focus on hands-on delivery.
• Hands-on experience across networking and Microsoft services.
• Experience working in environments with Active Directory and Windows Servers.
• Exposure to infrastructure security, hardening, and remediation work.
• A practical, delivery-focused mindset with strong troubleshooting ability.
• Experience working with Cisco, FortiGate, HP, or similar enterprise network technologies.
• Multi-site environment experience is highly desirable.
