A rapidly growing pharmaceutical manufacturing company, based in Smithfield, is looking for a Supervisor/Assistant Production Manager
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production related activities (including manufacture of oral solid dose forms, softgels and ointments and creams).
A full-time position for a Production Supervisor/Assistant Production Manager is available for an immediate start.
Specific duties and responsibilities for the position of Supervisor/Assistant Production Manager (Manufacturing) are as follows:
Responsible for all activities in the production department including the production of Oral Solid Dosage forms (capsules, powder blends, and tablets - coated tablets, chewable tablets, film coated tablets, etc.), Ointments & Creams, and Softgels.
Planning and coordinating production activities to ensure optimum utilisation of resources (staff and equipment). This includes scheduling employee work hours based on availability of equipment.
Ensuring that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are always followed and all activities are as per the current Good Manufacturing Practices and as per the work health and safety standards.
Monitoring production activities and costs, and adapting processes and resources to minimise costs.
Coordinating with Quality teams to get line clearance and production commencement approvals.
Minimising production loss and wastage by ensuring efficient execution of unit operations.
Avoiding rejections by ensuring proper setup of machines and regular staff training on the machine operations and requisite SOPs.
Participating in Machine qualification (including Installation Qualification, Operational Qualification and Performance Qualification) for new machines being acquired.
Reviewing production and staff performance and providing feedback on staff performance to HR.
Providing senior management with daily production reports.
Liaising with other departments (Quality Assurance, Procurement, Warehouse, Quality Control, HR/Admin and/or Engineering) when planning and coordinating production activities.
Liaising with other departments, including R&D and Engineering team for continual manufacturing and product improvements.
Maintaining accurate and complete records of all activities as per Standard Operating Procedures and applying Good Documentation Practices, which include ensuring data integrity.
Ensuring batch records and documents are up to date and as per Good Document Practices.
The successful candidate should have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Chemistry with at least 3 years of full-time work experience as a Production Supervisor or Assistant Production Manager in a pharmaceutical company.
The candidate should be self-motivated, be able to work well under pressure, and a team-player with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Attention to detail is important in the role. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude and is a self-starter. The candidate must be hard working, organised, creative and passionate about working in a team environment. He or she will be required to work in a high-pressure environment.
