About the role
We are seeking an experienced NDIS Compliance & Administration Officer to join our team on a full-time basis at our Merrylands NSW office. This is a pivotal position that combines administrative expertise with a thorough understanding of National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) regulations and compliance requirements. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our organisation operates in full compliance with NDIS legislation, funding agreements and quality standards whilst maintaining efficient administrative operations. This role reports directly to management and has significant responsibility for supporting the smooth functioning of our organisation.
Key responsibilities
Monitor, interpret and ensure compliance with NDIS legislation, the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission standards, and all relevant regulatory requirements
Maintain comprehensive compliance documentation, policies and procedures, ensuring they are current and accessible to all staff
Conduct regular audits and compliance checks across operational areas, identifying and reporting any areas of non-compliance
Coordinate with funding bodies and manage NDIS-related correspondence, submissions and reporting requirements
Support the preparation and management of NDIS participant files, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete and properly stored
Administer general office operations including scheduling, record-keeping, filing systems and document management
Provide administrative support to senior staff and management, including meeting coordination and report preparation
Develop and maintain compliance registers, incident logs and audit trails as required by NDIS standards
Liaise with participants, families, staff and external agencies to address compliance-related queries and concerns
Assist in staff training and induction processes, particularly regarding compliance and quality standards
Generate compliance reports for management review and regulatory submissions
What we're looking for
Demonstrated experience working within the disability sector, preferably with NDIS-registered providers, with a solid understanding of NDIS legislation and frameworks
Minimum 1-2 years' demonstrated experience working within the disability sector is required
Proven knowledge of NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission standards and compliance requirements
Strong administrative skills with proficiency in record-keeping, data management and office systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex compliance information clearly
Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in documentation and reporting
Strong organisational and time management abilities, capable of managing multiple compliance tasks simultaneously
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and database management systems
A commitment to safeguarding and person-centred care principles, with understanding of duty of care obligations
Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify compliance risks and recommend practical solutions
Relevant qualifications such as a Certificate IV in Disability Support or Diploma in Community Services would be advantageous
Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and police clearance as per sector requirements
Police clearance must be current at the time of application and cannot be obtained after hiring
