About the Role 

As a Network Security Engineer, you will help strengthen Hollard's cyber security environment by managing and improving network security controls, resolving security risks, and supporting key technologies including Palo Alto, Azure Firewall, and F5. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with strong networking and firewall expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for learning new security technologies.

Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Manage and optimise enterprise firewall technologies, including Palo Alto, Azure Firewall, and F5, ensuring secure and effective operations.

  • Support network security and micro-segmentation initiatives, helping to strengthen and mature Hollard's security posture.

  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve network security, connectivity, and access control issues.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, business stakeholders, and technology vendors to implement security improvements and support key projects.

  • Ensure compliance with cyber security policies, standards, and frameworks while supporting incident response and risk remediation activities.

  • Stay current with emerging security threats and technologies, contributing to continuous improvement, documentation, and knowledge sharing across the team.

About You 

  • Proven experience managing enterprise firewall and network security technologies, including Palo Alto, Azure Firewall, F5 ASM, or similar platforms.

  • Strong understanding of networking and cyber security principles, including access controls, authentication, encryption, network segmentation, and Zero Trust architecture.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex network, firewall, and security issues, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience working with cyber security frameworks and best practices such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, and cloud security models.

  • Exposure to cloud, identity, and network security technologies, including Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, Illumio, Silverfort, Microsoft Defender, Qualys, or Tenable, with a willingness to learn new platforms.

  • Ability to work effectively in Agile environments, manage competing priorities independently, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver secure business outcomes.
