Location: Sydney

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer Lead to drive the design, implementation, and migration of scalable cloud solutions on AWS. This role combines hands-on engineering expertise with technical leadership, focusing on cloud migration, Kubernetes-based deployments, and automation of infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable AWS cloud solutions

  • Drive cloud migration programs (Lift & Shift, Rehost, Replatform) including strategy, planning, and execution

  • Manage migration factory activities, including wave planning, execution, and troubleshooting

  • Provide technical leadership across cloud and infrastructure initiatives

  • Design and implement target architectures aligned with business and technical requirements

  • Lead automation initiatives for cloud infrastructure using modern tools and practices

  • Support and lead Kubernetes-based deployments, including Helm chart management

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and offshore teams to ensure timely delivery

  • Identify and remove technical blockers during migration and implementation phases

  • Ensure cloud solutions meet security best practices, including authentication and authorization

  • Define and manage environmental and infrastructure requirements

Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS core services:

    • VPC, Subnets, Routing, ELB/ALB, Route 53

    • Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, and networking components

  • Proven experience with Kubernetes and Helm

    • Helm chart updates and Kubernetes-based deployments

  • Experience with Docker (Dockerfile creation and containerization)

  • Hands-on experience in cloud migration projects

    • Lift & Shift, migration strategy, rehost and replatform approaches

  • Experience with serverless and event-driven architectures

  • Proficiency in GitHub for version control, code reviews, and collaboration

  • Strong understanding of cloud security best practices

  • Experience working in Agile environments (sprints, stand-ups, cross-functional teams)

Leadership & Collaboration
  • Demonstrated experience leading cloud and infrastructure teams

  • Ability to work with distributed/offshore teams (e.g., India)

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve technical challenges proactively
