Claims Analyst

This Claims Analyst at HDI is primarily responsible for processing  bordereaux and claims transactions to ensure that the figures from our Third Party Administrators (TPA) are entered into our system reliably and accurately.  

As the process is predominately manual, a key part of the role will be working on data transformation to enable automation of the data entry and upload of data files.  The role may also involve migration of data and data mapping from one system to another.

An important part of the role is creating and monitoring a sustainable reconciliation process to ensure data entered reconciles with the source system.

Key Duties:

  • Data integrity checking of transaction reports.

  • Data cleansing.

  • Inputting individual payment and recovery transactions twice weekly.

  • Producing Top Up Payment file for Finance to pay our TPAs.

  • Monthly input of reserve transactions.

  • Monthly reconciliation of system data compared with Bordereaux (BDX) data.

  • Data integrity/cleansing and preparation of processing file.

  • Input of transaction details from processing file.

  • Producing payment file for Finance.

  • Monthly reconciliation of system data compared with BDX.

  • Ad hoc assistance with data quality and reporting tasks.

  • Data integrity, cleansing, and mapping to upload file.

  • Working with the TPA on report logic to ensure source data integrity.

  • Creation and documentation of process.

  • Assist the Data team on establishing Snowflake database.

  • Assisting with Power BI portfolio reporting from established database.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong understanding of data integrity principles, including identifying anomalies, inconsistencies, and missing data.

  • Strong attention to detail and data quality mindset, with experience performing data validation, reconciliation, and cleansing activities.

  • Ability to work with external stakeholders (e.g. TPAs) to clarify data issues, validate report logic, and improve data quality at source.

  • Experience working with transactional data (e.g. payments, recoveries, reserves) and ensuring accuracy in high volume processing environments Proficient in Excel (including formulas, data manipulation, and reconciliation) for data cleansing, processing, and reporting tasks.

  • Proficient in using Power BI for data modelling, Power Query, DAX, Data Flows, and choice of visualisations.

  • Clear and structured documentation skills for processes, controls, and data handling workflows.

  • Insurance/ financial Industry experience desired.

  • Basic understanding of Python, SQL, and VBA is advantageous but not required.
