PCA Ground Engineering is an innovative civil construction contractor delivering a range of civil and ground engineering projects across Australia. With a strong and growing pipeline of civil construction contracts, our estimating team is expanding. We are looking for an experienced Estimator with a civil construction background to join our team and contribute to securing and delivering quality project outcomes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and submit civil construction tenders, EOIs, and RFQs under the direction of the Estimating Manager.

  • Complete tender pricing using first principles estimating for earthworks, drainage, pavement, concrete, and civil structures.

  • Review drawings, specifications, and BOQs to accurately scope and price civil construction works, including TMR and TfNSW specifications.

  • Develop risk and opportunity registers for civil tenders and present findings to internal stakeholders.

  • Identify construction methodologies and value engineering opportunities to strengthen PCA's competitive position.

  • Provide pipeline reporting updates to the Estimating Manager for tender meetings and management reporting.

  • Interpret contract conditions applicable to government and private civil construction contracts.

  • Comply with Company Quality Assurance systems, procedures, and document control requirements.

  • Review new drawings, specifications, and instructions received from clients or authorities.

To be successful in this role you will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Minimum four years' experience estimating in civil construction — roads, drainage, earthworks, concrete structures, or similar.

  • Sound understanding of government specifications and requirements for road and bridge works, including TMR and TfNSW

  • Familiar with contract administration and the ability to interpret construction contract conditions.

  • Moderate to strong skills in Microsoft Office products.

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a high-performing estimating team.

  • Precise attention to detail.

Knowledge of the following would be advantageous:

  • Knowledge of Expert Estimation (Pronamics).

  • Familiarity with TMR & TfNSW specifications.

  • Experience with 12d, Civil 3D, or similar software for volume and quantity take-off.

  • Understanding of earthworks methodology including cut/fill, material classification, and compaction requirements.
