Procurement Officer

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Procurement Officer to work in a diverse and well-structured working environment within a company that focuses on long term career development. The opportunity is available within an established business of 15 years completing commercial and industrial subcontracting within the Electrical and Mechanical (HVAC) construction field. This role is ideal for an administration professional with procurement or purchasing experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and building strong supplier relationships.

About the Role

You will provide procurement and administrative support across the business, ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of goods and services. You will play a key role in maintaining supplier relationships, processing purchase orders, and supporting project delivery through accurate procurement administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Raise and manage purchase orders and procurement requests

  • Maintain procurement records, supplier information, and documentation

  • Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and deliveries

  • Coordinate supplier onboarding and maintain supplier databases

  • Monitor order progress and resolve delivery or invoice discrepancies

  • Assist with obtaining quotations and supplier comparisons

  • Support procurement reporting and data management

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures

  • Provide general administrative support to the procurement and project teams

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in an administrative, purchasing, or procurement role

  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a busy environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience

  • Experience using ERP or procurement systems

  • Experience using COINS software is highly regarded

  • Previous supplier relationship experience

  • Exposure to construction, infrastructure, building services, or project-based environments

  • Experience working with Electrical / HVAC wholesalers and suppliers is highly regarded

  • Understanding of procurement processes and purchasing practices
