About the Role

Midford is looking for a talented and motivated Garment Technician to join our creative and dedicated team. We are seeking an energetic, efficient, team orientated individual to provide creative solutions for a diverse range of projects. Working closely with Product Developers, Graphic Designers, Suppliers and Account Managers you must have strong attention to detail and be an effective communicator.

Job tasks and responsibilities

• Superior communication, organizational and time management skills.

• Proven ability to independently manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast paced and deadline driven environment.

• Support the Product Development Team in translating the design concept to technical specifications through the creation of technical specs.

• Assist in creating tech packs for quotation and production. In particularly both the measurement and grading rules to ensure all grading and fit are consistent with all other Midford products.

• Organise fittings with the Midford team and provide technical recommendations on fit and pattern adjustments where necessary.

• Assist in the communication of fit comments to vendors within timelines.

• Lead QC and Technical Design aspects to ensure Midford products meet appropriate quality requirements and customers’ expectations.

• Measure and assess samples according to the timeline and agreed quality requirements.

• Track samples and maintain accurate records in conjunction with the Product Development Team.

• Lead Root Cause Analysis and resolve and improve products with quality non-conformance.

Skills and experience

• 3 + years professional experience (preferred).

• Garment construction and manufacturing knowledge is essential.

• Experience and knowledge in pattern making and grading in outerwear for both children and adults is essential.

• Computer skilled, particularly in Microsoft Office, Photoshop and Adobe CC (Illustrator). PLM and Gerber/Lectra experience is desirable, but not essential.

• Ability to work in a Team Environment.
