The Senior Service Technician is responsible for full ownership of workshop production and embedded system integration across Sphere’s Hub portfolio.
This role leads production planning, quality assurance, documentation standards, and technical oversight. The Senior Service Technician ensures systems are reliable, repeatable, scalable, and production-ready.
While primarily workshop-focused, this role also oversees complex issue resolution, field support escalation, and deployment strategy.
This is a leadership role with accountability for production output, standards, and team capability development.
Take full responsibility for workshop production output and quality
Plan and coordinate builds across HubX, HubT, trailers, and ROC infrastructure
Ensure production efficiency, repeatability, and adherence to standards
Oversee embedded system integration across all builds
Approve completed builds prior to deployment
Identify and implement process improvements to reduce build time and increase reliability
Act as highest technical escalation point within workshop
Diagnose complex hardware and integration faults
Implement systemic fixes and prevent recurrence
Support issue resolution
Lead root cause analysis activities
Own WBI development and version control
Standardize configurations across Hub products
Maintain BOM accuracy and release control
Ensure audit-ready compliance documentation
Develop troubleshooting guides and production playbooks
Lead complex deployments and commissioning activities
Oversee field maintenance standards
Support regulatory compliance
Guide customer-facing technical discussions when required
Mentor Junior and Service Engineers
Develop structured onboarding and training processes
Foster a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement
Provide feedback into Product and Engineering teams
Support production scaling strategy
8+ years in embedded systems, IoT integration, or industrial automation
Hands-on experience with embedded device setup (e.g., Raspberry Pi, ESP32)
Knowledge of small-scale networking hardware (e.g., Peplink routers, switches)
Knowledge of IoT protocols like MQTT and tools like Node-RED
Proven leadership within technical or production environments
Deep expertise in hardware/software integration
Strong understanding of production workflows and documentation standards
Experience improving efficiency and scalability of technical builds
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
