GENERAL YARD HAND

Ground Stabilisation Systems Pty Ltd is a Geotechnical Company offering quality assured work, professionalism and innovation for asset protection.  We specialise in remediation projects, complex civil construction and rock fall protection services.  

An opportunity exists for a General Yard Hand to learn within our organisation. 

The role

The person for this position will be versatile and happy to complete any task at hand. They will be operating manual vehicles. loading, restraining, transporting and unloading a variety of equipment as well as general yard tasks. The initial employment is casual but, will move to a permanent position after a successful probation period.  The ideal person for this position will have a strong work ethic, be willing to work away from home when required, jump in to help the team on the ground where possible and ensure effective communication while working with other employees. 
 

Reporting to the Yard Manager/ Site Coordinator, you will be responsible for;

• Daily onsite Yard duties, general housekeeping.

• Loading and unloading trucks using a forklift

• General yard cleaning duties 

• Equipment maintenance with the required training

• Basic Fabrication / Welding

• Project Packing

Essential Criteria 

• Be physically fit (hard physical labour is a must)

• Ability to multitask

• Good communicator

• Have at least 1 years experience in similar role (civil construction highly desirable)

• Current White Card

• Current driver’s license and own transport

• Forklift ticket desirable

• Able to undertake a full pre-employment medical

• Previous experience in in welding/fabricating desirable

• Mechanically minded Highly desirable

A current Forklift Licence and MR Licence or Welding would be highly regarded.

This is initially a casual position with a view to becoming fulltime after a probationary period.  An immediate start after completing a pre employment health check is required.
