Our client, a well-established automotive repair business, is looking for a Panel Shop Manager to lead the production side of their busy panel and paint workshop.

This role is ideal for someone who understands the industry inside and out - whether you’re currently a Senior Panel Beater, Estimator, or Parts Interpreter - and are ready to step into a leadership position with greater responsibility.

You’ll still stay connected to the workshop floor, but the focus will be on leading the team, managing production workflow, and ensuring high-quality repair outcomes.

 

About the Role

As Panel Shop Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day production operations of the repair workshop, ensuring jobs move efficiently from assessment through to completion.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the daily workflow and production schedule of the workshop
• Leading and supporting a team of panel beaters and technicians
• Ensuring repairs meet quality, safety, and manufacturer standards
• Monitoring repair timelines and workshop productivity
• Coordinating with estimators, parts suppliers, and management
• Troubleshooting repair challenges and supporting the team with technical guidance
• Maintaining a safe, organised and efficient workshop environment
• Assisting with hands-on repair work when required

 

What we are seeking:

• Qualified Panel Beater (essential)
• Strong experience in automotive accident repair
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience highly regarded
• Experience as an Estimator or Parts Interpreter will be an advantage
• Excellent workshop knowledge and problem-solving ability
• Strong communication and team leadership skills
• Ability to manage workflow and meet repair deadlines
