About the role:

This position is located at our Yennora site for the night shift, operating from Sunday to Thursday, 10:30pm to 6:30am.

Occasional flexibility may be required to work alternative shifts in support of team operations, with sufficient notice provided.

The Maintenance Fitter/Turner is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving mechanical plant equipment and production machinery in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Key Responsibilities but not limited too:

• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on mechanical systems, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and packaging equipment.
• Manufacture and fit replacement parts using lathes, milling machines, and other tools.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective corrective actions.
• Install new equipment, ensuring proper mechanical fit and alignment with production requirements.
• Collaborate with electricians and operators to optimise machine performance.
• Interpret and work from mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of work orders, parts used, and maintenance history.
• Daily use of the MEX Maintenance Platform (training provided)

Skills & Experience:

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting & Turning) or equivalent.
• Trade License - Fitter (Essential) & Disconnect and Reconnect License (Preferred)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an FMCG, food manufacturing or Pharma business.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Competent in the use of workshop machinery and hand/power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, pneumatic diagram and schematics.
• Strong knowledge of Conveyors (Motors & Gearboxes) & Tray Sealers (Mondini)
• Proven experience in troubleshooting automated and mechatronic equipment.
• Knowledge of Siemens Automation products (PLC, HMI, Drives) is highly regarded.
• Experience with pneumatic systems and components.
