Labourer - Hardstand

Francis Marine Services has been synonymous with the marine servicing industry in the waterways of Pittwater & Broken Bay since 1962, situated at D'Albora Marina, in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park at Akuna Bay NSW.

We are seeking a hardworking and detail-oriented labourer to join our boat yard team. The primary responsibility is to ensure vessels are properly maintained and protected against marine growth by applying antifouling coatings. The role requires hands-on work, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols, no experience needed as on the job training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Surface Preparation: Clean, sand, and prepare hull surfaces to ensure proper adhesion of antifouling paint.

• Application of Antifouling Paint: Apply antifouling coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment as required.

• Inspection and Repairs: Identify and address any surface defects, such as scratches, blisters, or old paint layers requiring removal.

• Masking and Protection: Properly mask off areas not being painted to prevent overspray or damage.

• Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain tools, spray guns, and other equipment.

• Safety Compliance: Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.

• Customer Communication: Collaborate with customers or supervisors to understand specific requirements for their vessel. Pressure wash vessels on removal from water and prepare bottoms for antifoul work.
