Mowing & Gardening Team Leader

About the role

Frontline Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and dedicated Mowing & Gardening Team Leader to join our growing team in Sydney, NSW. This is a full-time position based in the Sydney region. As Team Leader, you will oversee daily operations, manage a team of gardeners and grounds maintenance specialists, and ensure the highest standards of service delivery across our mowing and gardening contracts. This role is crucial to maintaining our reputation for excellence in the gardening and landscaping industry and directly impacts client satisfaction and team performance.

Key responsibilities

1. Leading, supervising and managing a team of mowing and gardening staff, including task allocation, performance monitoring and staff development

2. Planning and coordinating daily work schedules to ensure efficient completion of mowing, landscaping and grounds maintenance projects

3. Conducting regular site inspections to verify work quality meets company standards and client expectations

4. Operating and maintaining mowing equipment and gardening tools, and overseeing equipment servicing and safety

5. Ensuring all team members adhere to health, safety and environmental compliance requirements on site

6. Communicating with clients to understand their requirements, address concerns and maintain strong relationships

7. Assisting with training new team members in proper techniques, equipment operation and safety procedures

8. Reporting on project completion, team performance and any issues to management

9. Maintaining accurate records of work completed, materials used and hours worked

10. Supporting the identification and resolution of problems related to grounds maintenance or landscaping work

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience as a mowing and gardening professional or team leader in the landscaping industry

2. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train and manage a team effectively

3. Strong knowledge of mowing equipment, gardening techniques and grounds maintenance practices

4. Current driving licence and willingness to drive between multiple job sites

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with team members and clients

6. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and physical stamina for hands-on work

7. Understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to grounds maintenance and landscaping

8. Strong organisational and time management skills to coordinate multiple projects

9. Problem-solving ability and attention to detail in ensuring quality outcomes

10. Relevant qualifications or certifications in horticulture, landscaping or team leadership (preferred)
