The Opportunity
  
The People & Culture Business Parter is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and is required to work across all levels of the organisation to deliver strategic, pragmatic and commercially focused people solutions.
  
The role plays a pivotal part in shaping and executing Tyremax’s people agenda, ensuring alignment with business strategy while fostering a high- performing, values-led culture.
  
Reporting to the Chief People Officer this position of trust requires a People & Culture (HR) professional with proven experience as a HR Manager or a HR Business Partner who is people oriented and results driven. Confident operating in a complex, fast-paced environment. Strong knowledge of Australian and New Zealand employment law, and IR best practices across both jurisdictions is essential.
  
Responsibilities
  
  • Strategic HR Implementation – Lead the implementation of strategic HR initiatives, including organisational design, workforce planning, and internal HR trainings, by enabling leaders, embedding effective people processes, and driving positive, well-managed organisational change.
  • Employee Engagement & Culture - Champion Tyremax’s values by developing strategies that embed across the organisation.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding – Partner with leaders on hiring decisions, participating in interviews. Oversee effective onboarding and induction.
  • Talent & Succession Management - Support the Talent cycle in partnership with the businesspeople & Culture team and the business.
  • Performance Management - Support the cyclical end-to-end Performance Review process.
  • Remuneration & Rewards – Support the annual remuneration review cycle, including market benchmarking and short-term incentive (STI) programs.
  • Employee Relations – Provide expert advice, counselling and mediation, managing complex ER matters with professionalism and discretion.
  • People & Culture Programs & Initiatives - Contribute to the broader People strategy and lead or support ad-hoc initiatives and projects.
  • Policies and Procedures – Develop, review, implement and monitor people-related policies in line with relevant Australian and New Zealand legislation.
  • Health, Safety & Wellbeing - Partner closely with the Safety Manager and CPO to ensure alignment and compliance to safety legislation and a strong wellbeing focus.
  • Coaching & Mentoring – Coach a P&C Advisor to support capability across employee relations, performance management, and stakeholder partnering while supporting their professional development and confidence in decision making.
About you
  • Demonstrated track record with 3-5 years of experience partnering with business units within frontline and corporate teams, ideally across both Australia and New Zealand.
  • Experience in automotive, industrial, FMCG or large-scale distribution Is highly regarded.
  • Experience supporting both Australian and New Zealand workforces, with working knowledge of New Zealand employment law, including the Employment Relations Act 2000 and Holidays Act 2003.
  • Ability to confidently build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to manage and juggle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including crucial conversations and negotiating.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality and sound judgement.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and policies and HR best practice.
  • High attention to accuracy and detail with a pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset.
  • Commercially astute with strong strategic HR capability.
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related discipline.
