Whether you’re a local resident or just visiting, Villaggio Restaurants are a must-visit destination for anyone seeking authentic Italian flavours in a friendly environment.&nbsp;Villaggio promises an unforgettable dining experience.&nbsp;Our team is growing and we need an experienced Cook at our very busy&nbsp;West Ryde restaurant.Main duties and&nbsp;responsibilities are:<ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li>Prepare and cook a wide range of menu items with consistency and attention to detail</li><li>Season and garnish dishes, and prepare gravies and sauces</li><li>Cook meals according to individual dietary requirements</li><li>Decorate and present food platters and dishes using herbs, sauces, and garnishes</li><li>Maintain consistent food quality, portion control and cooking standards</li><li>Ensure all dishes meet quality, taste, and presentation standards before service</li><li>Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and marinating.</li><li>Minimise food waste and contribute to cost-control efforts</li><li>Set up workstations with all necessary ingredients and cooking equipment</li><li>Operate safely and efficiently kitchen equipment including ovens, grills, fryers, and stovetops</li><li>Understand and control correct storage temperatures of freezers, fridges and cool room to store raw, cooked, and long-life food items, including gravies and sauces</li><li>Maintain proper food temperatures during storage and cooking</li><li>Assist with regular stock rotation and monitor expiry dates to minimise waste</li><li>Estimate weekly food requirements and implement cost-saving measures</li><li>Assist with menu planning and changes if required</li><li>Train and mentor junior kitchen staff and new team members, as needed or based on operational requirements</li><li>Adhere to strict hygiene and safety protocols, including proper allergen handling and delivering food from the kitchen to customers.</li></ul>&nbsp;Key Skills<ul><li>Strong communication and teamwork skills</li><li>Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and presentation</li><li>Commitment to maintaining a clean, hygienic, and safe work environment</li><li>Positive, enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn and mentor others</li><li>Ability to work independently or collaboratively to meet deadlines</li></ul>Qualifications Required: To be eligible for the above position, the candidate should have at least<ul><li>Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (with at least two years of on-the-job training) or Certificate IV in Cookery; OR at least three years of full-time, relevant experience in lieu of formal qualifications</li></ul>Remuneration: The appropriate candidate will be paid $80,000 annually plus superannuation.Work Experience: At least one year of full-time related experience.Other employment entitlements will be as per National Employment Standards and as per Fair work Instruments as prescribed by the Australian GovernmentMandatory informationIn cover letter/email, applicants must include Australian/Overseas Education, Work Experience, resident status wether Australian Citizen or Permanent Residents and English test (IELTS/PTE score) if temporary residents in Australia or living overseas.Note:&nbsp;Australian citizens and permanent residents are preferred.
