Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Study functional statements, organisational charts and project information to determine the functions and responsibilities of workers and work units, and identify areas of duplication.</li><li>Establish work measurement programs and analyse work samples to develop standards for labour utilisation.</li><li>Analyse workforce utilisation, facility layout, operational data, and production schedules and costs to determine optimum worker and equipment efficiencies.</li><li>Design mechanical equipment, machines, components and products for manufacture, and plan systems for construction.</li><li>Develop specifications for manufacture, and determine materials, equipment, piping, material flows, capacities and layout of plant and systems.</li><li>Organise and manage project labour and the delivery of materials, plant and equipment.</li><li>Establish standards and policies for installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection and maintenance in accordance with engineering principles and safety regulations.</li><li>Inspect plant regularly to ensure optimum performance is maintained.</li><li>Direct the maintenance of plant buildings and equipment, and coordinate requirements for new designs, surveys and maintenance schedules.</li></ul>Key Requirements<ul><li>Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.</li><li>Proven experience in mechanical design, plant operations, or process engineering.</li><li>Strong knowledge of engineering principles, safety regulations, and quality control standards.</li><li>Proficiency with relevant engineering and design software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent).</li><li>Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.</li><li>Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise across technical and non-technical teams.</li><li>Relevant professional registration/licensing (e.g. Engineers Australia membership) preferred.</li></ul>
