The business focuses on providing a welcoming store environment and high-quality customer service.</p><p>The business is seeking an experienced Retail Manager to take responsibility for the effective day-to-day management of the newsagency and to contribute to its continued growth and success.</p><p>This is a hands-on retail management position responsible for leading staff, managing stock and suppliers, overseeing sales and store performance, maintaining merchandising standards and ensuring consistently high levels of customer service.</p><p>The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring the newsagency operates efficiently, professionally and profitably while maintaining the friendly, community-focused environment for which Greenhills Newsagency is known.</p><br><h3>Benefits</h3><ul><li>Full-time, ongoing employment with an established local retail business.</li><li>AUD $80,000–$85,000 per annum + Superannuation.</li><li>Opportunity to manage the day-to-day operations of an established newsagency.</li><li>Leadership responsibility across staff, stock, merchandising, sales and customer service.</li><li>Opportunity to contribute to the continued growth and performance of a well-established community-focused retail business.</li><li>Work within a customer-focused and professional retail environment.</li><li>Opportunity to work with a diverse range of suppliers and products.</li><li>Opportunity to develop and apply retail management, team leadership and operational skills.</li><li>Stable, long-term career opportunity within an established business.</li></ul><br><h3>Task & responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of Newsagency.</li><li>Organise and control retail operations to ensure efficient and effective store performance.</li><li>Supervise, lead and support retail staff to maintain high standards of customer service and store operations.</li><li>Prepare staff rosters, allocate duties and coordinate daily staffing requirements.</li><li>Assist with staff recruitment, induction, training and ongoing development.</li><li>Monitor staff performance and provide appropriate guidance and support.</li><li>Determine appropriate product mix, stock levels and service standards based on customer demand and store performance.</li><li>Manage stock ordering, receiving, pricing, storage, replenishment and merchandising.</li><li>Maintain appropriate stock levels and minimise shortages, excess stock and wastage.</li><li>Maintain accurate records relating to stock, sales and retail transactions.</li><li>Liaise with suppliers to support product availability and timely stock replenishment.</li><li>Monitor product pricing and assist with purchasing and pricing decisions.</li><li>Monitor daily sales and overall store performance.</li><li>Review customer demand and sales performance to identify opportunities to improve retail operations.</li><li>Implement appropriate promotional, merchandising and product-display activities to support sales.</li><li>Ensure magazines, greeting cards, stationery, giftware and other retail products are appropriately stocked, priced and attractively displayed.</li><li>Maintain high standards of store presentation, cleanliness and organisation.</li><li>Provide excellent customer service and assist customers with product enquiries and selection.</li><li>Resolve customer enquiries and complaints professionally and promptly.</li><li>Oversee point-of-sale, cash-handling and EFTPOS procedures.</li><li>Ensure appropriate procedures are followed for NSW Lotteries products and services.</li><li>Monitor store operating expenses and contribute to effective financial and operational management.</li><li>Provide relevant operational and sales information to the business owner/director.</li><li>Identify opportunities to improve store efficiency, customer service and retail performance.</li><li>Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and company procedures.</li><li>Maintain a safe, organised, well-presented and welcoming retail environment.</li></ul><br><h3>Qualification & experience</h3><ul><li>Relevant qualification, minimum Diploma or higher in Business, Commerce or a related discipline.</li><li>Previous experience in &nbsp;customer-focused retail environment.</li><li>Knowledge of retail merchandising, purchasing, stock management and promotional activities.</li><li>One to Two experience in retail management.</li><li>Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to resolve customer enquiries professionally.</li><li>Great organisational and time-management skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.</li><li>Have great attention to detail and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Competent with point-of-sale systems, cash handling, EFTPOS and standard computer applications.</li><li>Ability to work effectively in a busy, customer-focused retail environment.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p>
